  2. This is a pre-flight image of the EUVE spacecraft in a clean room at Goddard
  3. Space Flight Center (GSFC).  This image clearly shows the major components of
  4. EUVE:

  6.  (1) The Science Payload (top) which was designed and built at the Space
  7.     Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.  The
  8.     three stacked scanning telescopes are visible.
  9.  (2) The Explorer Platform (EP) which was designed and built by the Fairchild
  10.     Space Company at GSFC.  The EP is comprised of the Payload Equipment
  11.     Deck (PED; middle) to which the solar panels are attached, and the
  12.     Multiple Mission Spacecraft (MMS; bottom) which houses the attitude
  13.     control, power regulation and communication systems.
